Another exciting week for us (truth be told, every week is exciting, so much going on).. We confirmed some thrilling plans for demonstrations at some local NCT bumps and babies sessions, and went en masse to a bonfire at Our Cow Molly, a lovely local farm that holds a charity bonfire with face painting, bar, fire engine rides, land train rides, bbq and fireworks every year. We were delighted to see so many slings in use during the evening. The majority were mass produced carriers and framed backpacks, but it is always great to see babies being held close and able to join in the fun from a good vantage point. Lots of us were in home-made fleece ponchos, and despite the 3 degree cold, had a roaring good time.
Here are a few photos; you can see that slings mean you can dance with more than one child at a time! Also, children who are kept close may well feel less anxious about the noise and the bangs and more able to enjoy the experience of fireworks. One little girl who was carried was totally mesmerised and completely secure. Many more can be found in the FB group – do come and join us for other events and enjoyment!
